Matteuzzi and Brooker enjoys attending L’Arche’s annual dinner and auction night to support adults with intellectual/disabilities and to benefit L’Arche Heartland. L’Arche operates five separate homes and two day services where core members (persons with disability) and assistants (persons who serve a care providers) live and share their lives. Each person, considered sacred and unique, is encouraged to grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and vocationally according to his or her gifts. L’Arshe is goverened by a local volunteer board of directors and licensed by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
